The Friends PSA is an active group open to parents, family, staff and governors who meet regularly. We aim to “Advance the education of the pupils in the school, purchasing items that the school may not otherwise be able to afford, through fundraising” and “Organise events that the children can become involved in and gain both in their development and enjoyment”.
High Down PSA supports the school by holding a variety of fundraising events throughout the school year. Funds are used to provide new classroom equipment and resources, play apparatus, theatre trips, and many more provisions identified and agreed upon between the school’s staff, parents, and PSA committee.
A meeting is held in the first week of each term to discuss the upcoming events and any spending requests. We encourage all parents and staff to attend PSA meetings as they provide an ideal opportunity to have a direct influence on current and proposed spending projects. A whole-school community and voice is important to us!
Regular fundraising events include our hugely popular school discos, fairs, as well as smaller projects that run throughout the year, such as our Lucky Lotto, clothing collections and book drops.
We are always looking for more volunteers so if you can help in any way at all, whether that means sticking labels on envelopes in the comfort of your own home, or manning a stall at a fair, we would love to hear from you!
