Dear Parents and Carers
I would like to wish you all a very warm welcome from everyone at High Down Schools, our governing body and the wider Lighthouse Schools Partnership.
Though we find ourselves in the middle of an unprecedented national emergency we are planning to ensure that you and your children are well prepared to start school when September comes. Although our usual transition opportunities are currently on-hold, until we can ensure it is safe to welcome you onto the schools site, we will ensure that all relevant information will continue to be shared with you either through email, telephone calls or through the post. Our school website is also currently being amended so that all information for the cohort of 20-21 is easy to find in one space.
We are working very hard behind the scenes to make sure that your child’s transition to High Down is successful. Please be assured that your child’s safety and well-being are paramount and that this is the priority for us within all our planning.
Our experienced Early Years staff will be as prepared as ever for September and will support each child to settle and thrive at High Down. We want our children to be inquisitive and develop a passion for learning that lasts for the rest of their lives. Our role, in partnership with our parents, is to help them blossom and grow.
We understand that starting school can be an anxious time, especially during the current crisis, but please try not to worry. Our kind and caring staff will be on hand to make the transition as smooth as possible. We are aware that the children’s learning journeys may have been very different over the past few months and so we will tailor our teaching to the starting points of each child as they join us in September.
Should you have any questions regarding starting school please don’t hesitate to contact the phase leader on email@example.com or the school office on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please also check the Frequently Asked Questions section below to help with your query.
We will update you as necessary and look forward to welcoming you all to the school in person as soon as it is safe to do so.
Stay safe and take care
