School Uniform 2023

Please ensure all items of clothing are named.

Children in years 1 to 6 are to wear PE kits to school on their PE days. Long hair must be tied back on PE days.

School branded items are available from Your School Uniform but children do not have to wear branded items

Hair Styles

These must be neat and tidy. Extremes of fashion must be avoided. Use of hair dye to achieve an unnatural coloured look is not permitted.

What to Wear

Parents and visitors to the school comment on how smart our children look and, indeed, the high standard of uniform in the school is often cited among the many reasons why parents choose the school. We expect our children to wear their uniform with pride and it is apparent that the vast majority share in this ambition.  Please see below on what the children should wear.  If you have any queries at all, please speak to the office staff or class teachers.

JUNIOR SCHOOL – House Colour Days:

On House Colour days the children are allowed to wear a t-shirt that is house coloured (plain) with school trousers/skirt and their usual school shoes. We sell plain red, blue, green and yellow t-shirts at an approximate cost of £2.00.  Please see the office if you would like to purchase one of these.

Earrings and hair wear:

  • Earrings for school should be safe and functional. Stud earrings are acceptable, other types of earrings should not be worn.
  • Children with long hair will be required to have their hair tied back for P.E. and swimming so a hair band at school is a must.

Children have ample time to wear their own clothes at home and experiment with their own style. The school uniform for a school sets a standard. It demonstrates how as a school we are a community all sharing in the same goals and aspirations.  Thank you for your support in achieving this.

Name Labels

You can purchase multi-purpose sticky name labels via the link below.  These require no sewing or ironing and can be stuck on school uniform, shoes, lunch boxes and bottles.  They have been tested for 40 washes and are competitive with other suppliers of the same product.  If you do purchase these labels, up to 30% of the cost will be given back to the school PSA / HDJS Friends and will be used to buy resources or pay for experiences for the children.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU QUOTE THE SCHOOL’S FUNDRAISING NUMBER 9536.  (quote at the bottom of the order details page, just above the “add to basket” box). If this number is not included, the school will not receive anything, which would be such a shame.  It takes less than 5 minutes to place an order, there is no charge for postage and labels are despatched quickly.”
