Weekly Update – 7th October

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please find this weeks updates and reminders below:

Covid cases

Our number of positive Covid cases has risen over the first few weeks of term to a peak of 10 cases across the schools, although this number has been reducing. Please carefully monitor your children’s health and do not send them to school if they have the main Covid symptoms – a new, continuous cough, or a high temperature, or a loss of, or change in, their normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia). If your child demonstrates any of these symptoms they will need a PCR test and will need to isolate until that test is confirmed as negative.

If children are named as a close contact of those who have tested positive they should take a PCR test but can return to school whilst awaiting their results, if they do not have symptoms.

All classes remain open and our current risk assessment remains in place. We will continue to be in touch with Public Health and will be guided by them for any future developments or alterations to our policy.

Reporting absences

Absences must be reported by phoning the school on 01275 843969 by 10:00am each day.  Please select the appropriate option to report absence and then leave your message.   Please be as specific as you can regarding the reason.  Obviously knowing the reason for all absences in the current climate is paramount.

Parent/Carer’s evening

Please can I remind you that we have allocated one space per family for parent/carer’s evenings. In exceptional circumstances, for instance because of a court order noting that parents cannot be in the same room or because one parent lives a distance away, we will be able to offer a second appointment although this might not be during the allocated evenings.

Harvest-Wednesday 13th October

Both schools will be holding harvest assemblies on Wednesday 13th October. We will be joined this year by the Rev Mark Fuller. From both the infant and junior schools, we would be very grateful for donations of non-perishable food e.g. tinned food (vegetables, soups, beans, etc), dried food (pasta, rice, tea bags, coffee, biscuits), jars (jam, marmalade, sauces, chutney, etc). We will be donating to a local Foodbank in Clevedon. Tables will be positioned at the entrance points to school on Wednesday morning for you to drop off the items. This will then help us to pack up ready for collection later that day.

Consents Form for Processing Personal Data

Please could you click on the link below and complete the short form to record your consents (or non-consents) to the processing of your child’s personal data around photographs and video footage. We require specific consent to enable us to include images or video footage on the website, newsletter or otherwise shared. Please complete a separate form for each child.https://forms.office.com/r/duHSGFkprV

School Dinners – Menu

Aspens are continuing to suffer supply chain issues affecting the menu offer.

  • The menu will not change as planned after half term (if you have already ordered meals for after half term you will need to reorder)
  • The current menu will remain although if items cannot be sourced there may be some variations. Please rest assured that allergies/intolerances will always be catered for.

We hope you all have a great weekend.

Kind regards
