Infant and Nursery Christmas parties – Tuesday 14th December
Please could your child come to school wearing sensible party clothes. Children will still need coats and suitable footwear for outside play. Could you also please send in a small named plate with some party snacks which they will have after lunch. No nuts or hard sweets please. We are expecting a special visitor during the afternoon!
Due to staff absence, the School Office will be extra busy until the end of term and into the New Year, so please bear with us during this time. We may not always be able to answer the phone straight away but please leave a message and we will get back to you. We will also action e-mails as soon as we can, but we may not always be able to acknowledge or reply as quickly as usual. Thank you for your support.
In light of above, when reporting your child’s absence, please ring the School on 01275 843969 and leave a message on the absence line by 10:00 am. *Please do not report absence by e-mail because we may not see this until later in the day, by which time the absence may already be recorded as unauthorised.
As always, please provide a specific reason for the absence and if your child has any covid symptoms, then they must not come into School and must get a PCR test.
Advice from Public Health
Please see advice from Public Health regarding Covid:
If unwell stay at home. If negative for Covid, individuals should still wait until 24 hours post fever to go back into a setting. Colds and other non-Covid syptoms are circulating but in the first instance, cardinal symptoms should be treated as possible Covid and trigger isolation and testing. This is the case even if others in the setting/group have tested negative for similar symptoms.
Consultation to reduce the intake of High Down Schools
High Down Schools Governing Body is currently consulting on admissions arrangements to reduce the PAN from 90 to 60, for the reception intake, from September 2023. The consultation will run from the 7th December until 18th January.
401 Virtual Mission
As we move into the last week of Term 2, please do remember to update the 401 Mission Passports. Please could you send the 401 passport in with your child next Thursday 16th December, as we will be uploading the latest information to share with Ben Smith. We will then return these to the children in time for the Christmas holidays and Term 3.
